About LineUp

Two designers, one shared conviction

LineUp was founded by Caroline Inchyra and Kate Teyssier to give British fabric and wallpaper design a dedicated, beautiful home at the heart of the trade - a working library where interior designers genuinely want to spend time.

Our story

Why we started LineUp

We both run our own design houses - Caroline with Inchyra in Perthshire, Kate with Teyssier in Essex - and we shared a conviction that British fabric and wallpaper deserved a home of its own, right at the heart of the industry.

So we set up the showroom we had always wanted for our own collections. We knew how our brands needed to be shown, how designers wanted to find them and what it took to turn a visit into a project - and we built LineUp around all of it: cuttings to take away on the day, wallpaper boards that lift out to lay beside fabrics, and a big table to scheme at.

We opened in September 2024 at World's End Studios on Lots Road, a creative campus with a long history in the arts, design and fashion, a few minutes' walk from Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. The showroom now occupies one of the few ground-floor spaces at World's End Studios with its own street frontage.

From the start we wanted a library rather than a sales floor. Every house is chosen for the quality of its work and for the way it sits alongside the others - our partners don't compete, they compose.

Caroline Inchyra

Co-founder - Founder of Inchyra

Caroline founded Inchyra, a boutique house of prints, papers and passementerie, at Inchyra House in the Perthshire hills. Every design begins with an antique document from her own archive, sometimes reproduced faithfully and sometimes reworked to give it the Inchyra look, and the brand is now represented in the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand.

The LineUps

Taking the showroom on the road

Our LineUps began with a simple question: how could we see more designers face to face each year, without the cost and time of individual meetings, road reps or expensive exhibitions?

Meeting the people behind a brand is enormously valuable, but the traditional ways of doing it are costly for everyone. So we bring a select group of British houses together for a single day at a special venue outside London, in the areas where the most designers live and work. Past LineUps have included Chavenage House in Gloucestershire and Hutton Wandesley in North Yorkshire.

Designers meet the makers, browse the collections and take samples home, all in one relaxed day - and for the brands, it's a rare chance to spend time together too.

For design houses

A partnership, not a concession

Our partners rent their space in the showroom, and we don't take commission on the sales that come from it - the relationship between a brand and the designer is theirs to develop.

We keep the number of houses deliberately small, so that every collection is properly represented and every designer who visits finds what they need. If you run a British brand that you think would sit well in the room, we would love to hear from you.
