Bloomfield Ink

Bloomfield Ink was founded in 2021 by Prue MacLeod, who comes from a background in fashion and art, and textile designer Emerald Dangerfield. The idea took root over a lunchtime salad, and the designs now come to life in an old red tin barn in Herefordshire.

Every paper is hand block printed in the UK by a traditional family firm of printers in Lincoln. The colours begin as Winsor & Newton powder paints inherited from Emerald's grandparents - no longer made - which are hand mixed at the sampling stage and then matched by the printers.

Their designs are botanical and organic, drawing on everything from Wordsworth's daffodils to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The newest, Dancing Ladies, was born in Honiton in East Devon and is dedicated to the memory of the artist Hugh Dunford Wood. Custom colours can be mixed to order.
