Speronella Marsh

When Speronella Marsh moved to rural Shropshire in 2016 and needed to curtain her new home affordably, she taught herself hand-block printing, using her own collection of antique linens. Friends and family soon began commissioning pieces, which led to her first brand, Hare's Tail, designing bespoke fabrics for interior designers worldwide.

In 2024 she relaunched under her own name. Raised in Rome and trained at Van der Kelen in Belgium, she combines Italian and English style, and her designs draw on exhibitions and the often-overlooked beauty of plant and vegetable forms. She carves every block herself in her workshop near home, creating intricate negative spaces that she prints onto fabric and wallpaper.

Her work is rooted in eco-conscious practice, from repurposed antique sheets to a bespoke fabric service in her own colours.
